- Preserve the geometry and white internal circles.
- Preserve the canonical component color on every surface; never darken or recolor a mark to create contrast.
- On light or uncontrolled surfaces, separate the unchanged mark with the canonical fine dark keyline.
- Do not add gradients, shadows or decorative effects to the canonical mark.
- Use component color for recognition, not as a substitute for status or accessibility.
- Mark proposed identities explicitly until adopted in the owning repository.
